The Secret
September 12, 2008 by C.S. Hughes · 1 Comment
Rhonda Byrne felt like her life was crumbling around her. She had hit rock bottom. One day she came home to discover a gift her daughter left her. It was a book, The Science of Getting Rich. She read the book, and for the first time in her life, learned that there was truly a secret to success. If the secret she learned was real, it was not only limited to success, but anything else a person could ever want. If the secret worked, the love, the money, the health, the fame, the car, the house, the success, the goal, anything she wanted would be hers. And, it can be yours too. Read more

This article is continued from part 2.It was a recording of a seminar that Jack Canfield did. Jack is the co-author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, as well as many other best-selling books. And, later, he became one of the Secret teachers on the movie The Secret. I learned “the secret” of attracting anything you want into your life, way before there was a video about it.
I listened to those two tapes over, and over, and over. It was all so new to me, and so exciting. All this talk about positive mental attitude, positive self talk, affirmations, Read more
How I Discovered Personal Development (Part 2 of 3)
September 3, 2008 by C.S. Hughes · 6 Comments
This article is continued from part 1.
Even before I met her brother, Curtis, I just knew that I would be hired, and this would be what I would do for the rest of my life. After all, I had a premonition…a vision…I saw into the future. I discovered my destiny.
The next day, I went down for an interview. It was no interview at all. It was he and his business partner standing in the door way of their office just shootin’ the bull with me. After a few minutes, he said, “I like you. If you want the job it’s yours.” I said yes and was hired on the spot. I started the next day. Read more
How I Discovered Personal Development (Part 1 of 3)
September 2, 2008 by C.S. Hughes · 4 Comments
It was 1998. I was a 26 year-old college drop-out. I was working as an account rep for an ice company that required lots of driving. One day between accounts, I was sitting in my car in a grocery store parking lot, my engine running, while stuffing my face with a greasy burger. Bored, I caught myself staring at the gages in my dashboard, when I noticed the temperature slowly going up. Oh no, I thought, not again. (On a trip from Hades from Utah to Texas, my car did the same thing just before my radiator blew up.) I had absolutely no money in the bank, and knew if my radiator blew again, I’d be hanging out all day with Dr. Scholl’s. Read more

When Obama Wins, THEN Things Will Change!
July 18, 2008 by C.S. Hughes · 5 Comments
“Change we can believe in!” That’s Obama’s campaign slogan. That combined with his charming good looks and his movie star charisma has launched him onto the world’s big stage as he battles it out for the White House. In my 35 years, I have never seen anything like it. He has become near deity to Read more
Why Eat Organic
June 2, 2008 by C.S. Hughes · 3 Comments
Let’s talk Organic 101. Here’s the bottom line. Up until recently, most, if not all of the food available at the big grocery chains contain poisonous chemicals. It’s that simple.
PRODUCE
Produce is porous, meaning, just like your skin, what you apply to the outside comes through the pores to the inside (so be careful about what you put on your skin). Fearing the crops to be overtaken by bugs and other pests, farmers for years, have been spraying their crops with pesticides…aka, poison. Poison on, bugs off! That’s the good news. The bad news is, if you put poison on the outside, the poison gets in the inside. So when you eat NON-ORGANIC produce, you are getting poisons and other toxins into your blood stream. Read more

The Past, Present and Future of pd4free.com

I will tell my complete story in a future post, but for time being here is the Readers Digest version. In 1999 I was beyond broke living in what I call the ghetto (it’s so much easier to say the ghetto rather than “the bad part of town”) in Ft. Worth, Texas. I was a 27 year-old college drop out, waiting tables at Chili’s, earning less than $10,000 a year. Today, I am a millionaire, with an amazing life! All I did to exchange poverty and emotional numbness for wealth and incredible fulfillment is Read more
Jump! Even if You’re Not Ready!

I am an entrepreneur. What that means, at least for most of us, is that I am an idea guy. I have ideas coming out the wazoo. (Is that how you spell that?) Naturally, I am a strong starter, but a lame finisher. I have started dozens of projects, that are sitting incomplete somewhere in my Macintosh (If it’s not a Mac, take it back!). But finishing has always been a struggle for me. And, I would say for most entrepreneurs. Read more
