"You have to give it away, to keep it!"

"Give in to Win!"

There are loads and loads of 'self Help' books on the bookstalls. Some of them are useful, some are just so much crap.

One book that is a success and is a 'Self Help' book of sorts, showing a way of living are the '12 Step Books' based on the AA philosophy of recovery. Many organisations use a modified verson of the '12 Step' program of AA.

You don't have to be a an Alkie, a Drunk, or a Junkie to benefit from the 'Big Book' of AA. I know plenty fo folks who ain't alkies or junkies, but who find the philosophy for life as espoused by Dr Bob and Bill W useful.

Whatever you use, make sure that it works. Otherwise you can 'buy into' and part with lots of hard earned cash for such a load of bulldroppings!!

"Buyer Beware!"... "A Fool and their Money are Soon Parted!" and "Theres No Fool Like an Old Fool!"

Richard, Thanks for your point of view. The guy is a moron because he is selling a book telling others not to buy books. It's a dichotomy. And, he is in essence saying, don't waste your time and money trying to improve yourself. That, is a moron. Also, people don't give back for money. They give back to give back, and because they give back, they are blessed with income. My wife and I gave away more money last year than we ever have in any single year, and guess what.... as a result we have our best year ever! Amazing how that works.

What's so bad about what he said? He didn't sound like a moron to me! The contents of the Bible are Free to anyone who wishes to read it. Self-Help books (and the knowledge within them) have to be paid for, also Library memberships are FREE, personal development books and it now appears websites require some form of investment to start.
The guy in the office is all about giving back and uplifting america... but only as long as he is getting paid for it.. I really wonder who the morons are!!

LMAO!!!!!! I cannot believe this guy. "every 6 to 12 months people go back to buy more books" HELLLLOOOOO!!! Don't doctors have conventions that they go to on a pretty regular basis to keep up with the new discoveries in medicine or for a refresher? LOLOL I could not stop laughing at this dude. Most books that I have read, so far, state pretty clearly that we have to apply what we learn in order to see any results. "Learned Knowledge - Activity Knowledge - then go back to Learned Knowledge" hehehe

[...] I discovered personal development, I thought the whole self-help industry was a scam. I thought it was all about just selling books and tapes to stupid and emotionally unstable people. [...]

Wow, this is just truly sad. The world is full of people who have been beat down so much they already don't believe they can change. Now we have this guy feeding that LIE. He obviously believes this lie and doesn't believe even in himself. He shared a story in one of the Chicken Soup books and then when people came to him he didn't feel 'qualified' to help them. I would assume (having not read his story) that the story was put in there becasue there was 'hope' at the end of it and isn't that what people need. Just hope. I've been there. I made it through. You can too. I think your qualified when you can give hope. When you can say, 'This is my life, but it wasn't always this way. I use to (fill in the blank with whatever pit you crawled out of) but then things changed for me and this is my story.' And if someone can relate to that pit then you have given them hope. Your pit is never so deep when you see the light of someone else making it out. I cherish all the knowledge and wisdom people have shared in books and seminars. I'm told to love my neighbor as myself in the bible so I feel it's my duty to make sure I am constantly growing in the self department. The more I pour into me, the more I can give to my 'neighbors.'

Thank you Mr. Hughes for being the conduit of such great information. You are truly an inspiration. As you, and others, have poured into me I continue to pour into others. Keep it coming!!!

Thank you Mr. Hughes,

Well if it's a scam, I'm in really deep! A few months ago, the light bulb moment hit me and although I knew I had some negative beliefs as to whether I could succeed in this business and tthat they have been holding me back I had not seriously taken any steps to alleviate them. I have been taken some steps to get out of that old way of thinking. One thing I recently accomplished was to create a "Mind Movie Video". Ryan Higgins is the creator of the Mind Movies at www.mindmovies.com.

For those of us who created our video or are in the process; of what we want for our lives, they are being entered in a contest until December 15, 2008. The person whose video is watched the most on YouTube or My Space will win a prize. The links to my video are below. I could not mention PrePaid Legal but the money and business titles and pictures are definitey about it.

Please feel free to share this information.

here are the links for my Mind Video:

Hahaha this guys is just funny. That fact that people buy self help books after they read on means that it is working. You can't take one spanish class and know Spanish right away. Would you say food is a scam because after people eat they have to go back and eat more food later?

All I can say about him is dogs don't bark at parked cars, so there's no point for me to add any words to him. lol What i can say though is Personal Development has changed my life so much. I am more positive than I ever have been, more generous, and more fun because of it. I love personal development.
