The Secret

Rhonda Byrne felt like her life was crumbling around her. She had hit rock bottom. One day she came home to discover a gift her daughter left her. It was a book, The Science of Getting Rich. She read the book, and for the first time in her life, learned that there was truly a secret to success. If the secret she learned was real, it was not only limited to success, but anything else a person could ever want. If the secret worked, the love, the money, the health, the fame, the car, the house, the success, the goal, anything she wanted would be hers. And, it can be yours too.

The book was written by Wallace D. Wattles in 1910, just one year before he died (I’m so glad he got it out and didn’t take it to the grave). As the book indicates, it is the science of getting rich. But it is not limited to the acquisition of money alone. You can apply it’s information to get anything you want.

Shocked at what she learned, she wondered if there were anyone living who knew the secret. She discovered that there were many on the earth who not only knew it, but used it to get everything that they wanted, and, were traveling the country teaching others about this power.

She became obsessed with wanting the world to know this power, this law, this secret. She used her expertise and contacts in the entertainment business to get the ball rolling toward a full length movie that would educate the masses about what many feel is, the most powerful law in the universe… the Law of Attraction, otherwise known as The Secret.

The movie launched in 2006 and was an immediate sensation. I was one of the first to watch it. Though I didn’t agree with everything that was taught, I was stunned at how they put, what took me 8 years of intense study to learn, into an 87 minute movie. I thought it was incredible. Though it’s no Sunday school video, far from perfect, and anything but complete, it is such a powerful tool to educate the masses that they have the power within themselves to live the life of their choosing. I am living proof.

I learned the secret in 1998 as a result of my boss telling me I had head problems. Nobody likes to be told that, but as a result I was introduced to Jack Canfield, my beloved first mentor, who would, 8 years later be selected as one of the teachers in the movie. I learned the secret 8 years before it was The Secret.

At the time, I was single, lonely, burned out, and broke. I was living in a nasty cockroach and rat infested house in the bad part of town in Ft. Worth, Texas. I wanted out so bad. I was so miserable. One day, I learned it. I learned the secret. More importantly, I believed it, and, I applied it.

In 1998-1999, the year I learned the secret from Jack Canfield, according to my social security reports I get in the mail every year, I earned about $7,000. The very next year, the year after I learned the secret, I earned $21,000. I tripled my income in one year. The next year I earned $43,000. I doubled my income! The next year, I earned over $144,000…in PASSIVE INCOME, not job income. Mailbox income… income that came to me whether I worked or not. And it has gotten a lot better since then.

That was 2002. In that same year I married Sky, the perfect woman for me. Someone who would love me anyway, and put up with me. We bought our first home, and our first luxury car. We vollunteered at our church with the youth, gave away lots of money and began building our family. In 2003 we had our first son. In 2005 we had our second. In 2008 we became millionaires and had our third son. Scattered throughout were lots of service opportunities, several purchases of homes and more dream cars, world travel, and the ability to help even more people financially, people very close to our hearts, our own family. Life was full and abundant!

Do you think this was just a coincidence? I don’t. I am living the exact life I created 8 years ago, in my poverty, using the secret before it was The Secret.
